Science-Based Tree & Shrub Planting
-
Planting high-impact shade trees, ornamentals, and fruit trees tailored to Northern Ontario’s climate, soil conditions, and your property’s spatial footprint.
-
Strategic row planting of native cedars, spruces, and dense evergreen shrubs to create natural privacy barriers, block prevailing winter winds, and reduce noise.
-
Safe removal of dead, hazardous, or diseased trees (such as Emerald Ash Borer casualties) followed by site remediation and replacement with resilient, climate-hardy species.
-
Pre-planting site assessments including soil pH testing, drainage analysis, hardiness zone matching, and utility line clearance to guarantee long-term growth.
-
Technical installation of large-scale nursery stock requiring heavy-equipment handling, structural root prep, and specialized non-damaging stabilization systems.
The Master Arborist
Installation Method
Start your landscape off with scientific precision. Schedule a consultation to select and install trees built to thrive in Northern Ontario.
-
We evaluate soil drainage, pH, available root space, overhead utilities, and sunlight exposure to match your property with the ideal native or hardy species.
-
We locate the natural flare where the trunk meets the roots, ensuring the tree is planted at its exact anatomical height to prevent bark decay, fungal disease, and premature death.
-
Synthetic burlap, wire baskets, and twine are removed, and circling or girdling roots are structurally corrected before the tree goes into the ground.
-
We backfill using the natural soil profile—avoiding soil stratification issues caused by dumping standard potting mix into a clay pit.
-
Every installation includes proper ring mulching (never "mulch volcanoes"), temporary non-damaging stabilization staking when necessary, and a tailored watering schedule.
